So here we are again, It's Wednesday morning and all I have to write about is my running efforts over the past 2 days. Four miles on Monday and 3 Miles on Tuesday. I took 3 days off over the weekend and OMG did I feel it today, not a good thing. What was I thinking? I have no idea, however you can bet that won't happen again. My shins are killing me, I can't believe they hurt so much. I have never had pain like this before, oh and hubby as wonderful as he is, is laughing as this is the pain he's had all along and I've had none...he claims it's just desserts for having it so easy for so long, no injuries...I guess I have been very fortunate so far.
We have our first official race together on Sunday morning, actually it's at 12:30pm, and I have to work a swap the night before (10pm-6am) which means;
I will go home at 6am and sleep till about 9:45am,
shower and off to the race for 10:30 am (registration).
We had an interesting weekend however. We spent an evening with my mom and dad, had a nice dinner, mom really enjoyed getting together without the grandkids
(they have custody of them on the weekends)
It was nice to get out and see them both relax for a few hours, WOW do they love Brian, all they wanted to do was talk about his race, his next race (HEY!! I'm running this one too!!) and his training for the State Police Academy (April) His training for the Academy is coming along nicely, if he were to take the running challenge now he would PASS with little to no effort.
I am so proud of him!!!
We also met up with his parents for breakfast one morning, and to our surprise his grandparents were there too. We had a wonderful time getting everyone together, I love his family, they are great in laws (way better than the first one's I had) Which brings me to Saturday...while we were out, we ran into my former brother and sister in law, and Hannah their 5 year old
(I have not seen Hannah since the divorce in 2002, when she was 9 months old, she's beautiful!!!) Her daddy was very pleasant and said hello.
Where as her mommy went out of her way to avoid me like the plague, could it be that she was always heavy, and now is topping the scales at close to 300 lbs?
WOW, I couldn't believe the sight or size of her, OMG!!!!
It should be stated that the ex and I get along fine, I see him and his new wife on a daily basis, as they work at the end of my street (lucky me) but if I'm out walking the dogs he will stop and say hello, we are very dignified in the whole thing.
We are both happier, and in healthy relationships (he tells me he is anyway) so I hope the best for him and his new family, and I harbor no hard feelings,
I rather like the way My Life has turned out;
I've got the best husband in the world, I honor, cherish, and appreciate him everyday and
he does the same for me.
I truly married my best friend, without him life would not be complete.
