Well the surgery was Thursday afternoon, it was supposed to be at 1:30 but they didn't actually start till 4:40pm, making it a very long day. The surgery was to last 2 1/2 hours, it lasted 5, the MD said it was really bad when he finally got in there and took a look around. He commented that B had a very well maintained butt muscle as it took two of them to cut through it. The procedure went well once they were underway, he is now the proud owner of a 2 inch in
diameter metal ball and socket, which also contains a 9 inch metal rod the runs down his left thigh, holding all together. He was in excruciating pain on Friday, he was in so much pain he told me he was not coming back to have the right hip done, I told him the pain would be better tomorrow and you know what, it was. He had a better Saturday, he was finally able to sit up in a chair and get off the incision site. I made him walk around the floor on Saturday night, he said it felt good to walk and loosen the joint. Sunday was a great day, he probably walked about 2 miles when all was said and done. He did really good. He sat up in the chair the entire day, only going to bed at 10 pm after being up since 8:30am. The MD is very proud of his progress, and says he can come home Monday, and not go to a rehab facility, which is really good news!
The puppies didn't fare as well, they do not like their daddy being gone. They didn't eat or leave the window for 2 days. I had to bribe them with goldfish crackers over their food and I had to sit on the kitchen floor while they ate, because if I tried to leave they followed me in fear I was leaving them. So I sat on the floor at 5:30 am and watched them eat. Saturday when I got home I gave then the shirt B was wearing on Thursday and Riley took it into the bedroom and fell asleep on it and now he doesn't wasn't to give it up. Annabelle sits in the window waiting for her daddy to come home, she definitely is daddy's girl.

I am so glad to hear that everything went well in the end and that Brian is doing really well now. Tell him to keep up the good work, but try not to rush the recovery too fast. Make sure you get enough sleep as well now, young lady! We cannot afford WW right now, so that is on hold. I am going to go back to measuring out my food and I will be trying really hard not to drink on the weekends. Take care. TTYS.
