We went to Fenway Park yesterday for the futures at Fenway Game. This is the third year Fenway has hosted the games and OMG what a time we had. First off Futures at Fenway is a double header game (12:05pm & 4:30pm) played by Boston Red Sox single A team Lowell Spinners and Boston's Triple A team the Pawtucket Red Sox (Paw Sox). Lowell hosted Hudson Valley and won in 12 innings...Pawtucket hosted Charlotte Knights (Chicago White Sox minor league team) and won thankfully in 9. We saw 2 fantastic games...the talent Boston has coming up or as they say "Down on the Farm" is incredible...keep watching;
these guys are something to see.
Seeing we were at Fenway I decided to buy the best seats available..I got EMC Club seats for 30.00 bucks!!!! General admission seats were $5...they really made it affordable for families to go to Fenway and enjoy the experience. In case you don't know Fenway is the most expensive Major League Ballpark in all of baseball...general admission seats start at $45 and those are for the bleacher seats so $5 was huge yesterday...the tickets I purchased generally go for $297.00 and I picked them up for $30.00. The EMC Club is an exclusive luxury box with its own private dining room..oh la la. You are escorted right up to the seats by a private escalator and enter the dining room, it is gorgeous, fine china and linen,wine glasses...world series trophies, gold glove trophies silver slugger bats, MVP plaques..you name it, it was all there. We decided that we were NEVER going to get here again so we decided to eat in the dining room...B ordered a lobster roll and fries and I ordered a turkey Club with potato salad...wow it was fantastic and the bill was only $32.00, not bad seeing as on a regular Red Sox game the menu items start at $25, so it was a bargain day, however the food was not bargain size; the lobster roll was on a foot long bun and chock full of meat, very little mayo, and was wonderful..the turkey club was so big, I had to share with B as I could not finish it myself, but oh so good. We finished lunch and head to our seats ...OMG they were cushioned and comfortable with lots of leg room. We had front row seats and we had our own personal flat screen TV right in front of us to watch the live broadcast of the game on NESN or the Olympics, or a movie, how sweet is that. We definitely saw how the other half lives, and we want more, more more..it was the best experience we have ever had at Fenway and let me tell you we get to a few games a year and this hands down was the BEST time we have ever had! We have vowed to make this a yearly tradition...we will be back.
I will post pics as soon as I can upload them.
As we were driving home I received a call from my brother that my dad had been rushed to the hospital via ambulance. I dropped B off at home to care for the puppies and I rushed to be there. My dad is resting comfortably at this time, but he is expected to have surgery in the next few days. He is in good hands, and mom is holding up considerably well. Did Imention, the puppies were sick this morning and my sister was watching them all afternnon, but she was headed to be with dad, so that is the reason B was not by my side.
Riley puppy is feeling SO much better today, no vomitting, yeah!
Today we had tickets to see the Paw Sox. These tickets I had purchased on Feb. 2nd as soon as tickets went on sale, so yesterday was fantasy day for us. Today's game was great we saw Red Sox pitcher Bartolo Colon pitch the first 3 innings, he is rehabbing so we saw a major league pitcher for $10.00, woohoo! They lost today but we saw Jeff Bailey hit a home run, woohoo. The nice thing about today's game was we were home by 5pm.
I managed to get 5 hours of sleep before I had to work tonight.
We are heading to the gym as soon as I get home today, I have Boot Camp homework to do, and then it is home to sleep before picking up Kailyn for a couple of hours this afternoon..
