Hey all nice to be back! We spent alot of time in Boston last week while on vacation. Some of it was not by choice, as we were supposed to pick up our Jingle Bell 5K race packets on Tuesday between 9 - 3 pm, only to find when we drove 50 miles that they rescheduled it till 3pm to 8 pm, ahh not funny we were there at 9:30am to pick them up. So we returned on Wednesday to get then at 4pm, not a fun ride home from Boston with rush hour traffic, not fun at all. However, Wednesday was our anniversary so we enjoyed dinner in Boston, it was wonderful and a day we will never forget. I got a beautiful Mickey watch from Brian, it was even more special because he picked it up while we were in Florida in August. Brian got a running jacket. We managed to get all of our Christmas shopping done while we were on vacation together, nice all done. Actually, I have one gift left to get for my baby sister, she is the epitome of a tomboy, but she gets perfume from me every year, and believe me, I forgot it once at my house and I had to go home and get it because she thought I forgot her favorite,
I was happy to get it and now it has become our tradition.
Getting back to work took a little getting used to, I came in for four hours and ended up getting forced another 4 hours in the morning, nice, not!!! Oh well it was overtime rate.
I work 12/21-12/25 then I am off till 2008. YEAH!!!!
Hah! sounds nice right? I have overtime on Christmas morning!!! (6am - 10am)
Then we are off to mom and daddy's house at 4pm for breakfast.
Daddy's cooking his traditional Christmas morning breakfast, yummy!
Eggs, bacon (crisp) home fries (homemade) stuffed french toast, blueberry pancakes, Belgian waffles, homemade toast... Diet, what diet?
Hubby says this is the best part of Christmas at our house. We will be exchanging gifts when we arrive home later that evening, I hope I can wait?
I managed to score a Wii system purely by accident on Thursday, I was hoping to get a rain check at Game stop, but when I inquired about them, the manager told me to come back at 10:30 and he should have some, so I went home and let the puppies out and returned to the store to stand in line for an hour and receive my fruitful prize, I called Brian to let him know was unable to get the rain check, he was extremely disappointed , so with him being so heartbroken I advised him that he could play with the one I had sitting beside me, he was so excited he didn't want to stay at work the rest of the day, but seeing as I had the car and a few errands left to do, I told him to stand down and I would see him at 3 pm. He came racing out to the car, he was so excited!!! I love seeing him happy, mind you in the 6 years we have been together we have never played video games, ever, and we have a PS2 in the basement in a box.
We are finally running our run on Suinday after a week of delays due to an accumulated 16-20 inches of snow. We will be treading carefully on the streets of Somerville as they are still snow and ice covered. It should be a good time, there are a lot of pubs involved in the race. Anyone wearing a finishers medal into any of the pubs get all kinds of food discounts.
Buffalo wings here I come (5 cents), look out!
We will not be partaking in the post race beer fest, I have to work and we really don't drink.
