What was I thinking?


OK, What was I thinking yesterday that got me back into the gym and working out like a mad woman? Oh yeah, it was someone telling me that it looked like I had gained weight and was not spending enough time in the gym....So off I go. I ran 3.1 miles on Monday and took Tuesday off not because I wanted to, but rather it was really cold outside and I didn't feel like running alone and Hubby had the Jeep and was still at work into the dinner hours, (his hours are 7am -3pm) so he was late (overtime money, yeah!!!) Ahh we arrive at Wednesday morning, I decide that enough is enough, I'm going to the gym! I arrive at the gym at 6:30 am...I'm feeling good so I do some lunges, and abs, oh so good, I do this thing where I'm in a v-shape on my butt with legs vertical and I scissor my legs and toss a 6 lb ball between them, what a workout, and everyone who sees this stops and comments, that it must really take effort to make it look that easy... I love this ab exercise!!! Now it's 7 am and its my time for some fun in the fake sun, 12 minutes please.... OK vacation is over and while I was tanning I got this really brilliant idea to do the StairMaster 100 flight or bust! I saunter over to the machine and get on, did I mention I forgot my towel at home and neglected to grab a paper towel or two on my way up the stirs..yeah I did...10 minutes in I want to stop and get a paper towel, they are right behind me...but I know if I stop I will never get back on again, so I wipe my face on my shirtsleeve, this works once or twice after that I am soaked, I mean there is a puddle underneath the machine...eww gross, I hate sweating; that's why I like running in cold weather better. OK, now I want to go for 60 minutes or 100 flights which ever comes first...ahh 100 flights come first in a little over 30 min....34 actually. As if to prove I am worthy of my gym membership, I plan on getting the most out of my money I decide to ride the bike for 30 min...I get in a respectable 11 miles, at a level of 7...not too shabby. So now it is time to go home because I have to cover a 4 hour shift at the station...I go home, let puppies out, shower and go to work. At 2 pm I get to go home, first I have to buy a 40 lb bag of doggie food, them puppies like to eat. Next on the agenda is walking the puppies, OK they are walked and happy little guys once again, they settle in for their afternoon nap, I on the other hand have to go pick Hubby up from work...I head out..OK I have him, now it's homeward bound....Hubby says that we are going to the gym regardless of what I say, we are going, NO he is not the one who told me I was gaining weight! Had he been the one, I would have dropped 204 lbs really quickly!!!! This time I go to the sister gym of my morning workout...there is only one tread open upstairs so I let Hubby have it and I was going steadily for 9 miles downstairs!!!! I did NINE MILES!!!! This is in addition to my whole morning workout, I am a workout machine today!!!! WOOHOOO!!!

***Wednesday Morning***

I woke up this morning and I was in the worst pain, I have ever felt, actually, I do remember this pain...I get it when I have neglected muscles I haven't used since I pushed myself out of the birth canal many many years ago. So I lay around all morning caring for the puppies, they are so needy sometimes all they want is mommy's attention and to be cuddled all day...I live for these days!!!! Hubby called on his way home to inform me that we were again going to the gym, NO problem, I can't wait to work out the pain in my legs. I decide that I will work them out by doing lunges and the StairMaster, 105 flights...ohh ahh..the legs are feeling good. We leave and grab a fresh loaf of Italian bread to go with our pre-race pasta dinner, we are running a 5K on Sunday morning.....we are really running Sunday..our race is 75 miles from home at 10 am then we have a baby shower at 2 pm 12 miles from home...puppies are going to wonder what happened to mommy and daddy, we will be gone all day with the exception of showering.
