Brian's 1st Race!!!

Well, here are the first pic's I could get out there of his big day. He ran a great race 27:31, not bad for his first race. He's number 529, the woman in black next to him and the one in white to his right adopted him as there guy for the race. They all ran and finished together, their husbands are police officers and were working, so mine was a stand in for both. They were very sweet and took really good care of him out there. He had a great time and can't wait for the next one on 10/28.

He is thrilled with the idea of running the Billy Kelly Memorial Race on 11/18, as it turns out they were friends and had worked numerous shifts together behind the walls.

He tells me he was a solid officer and always had your back.

After the race he headed down the road about 10 miles and went to a restaurant called

The Blue Ribbon (a fantastic BBQ joint) We celebrated his day with a wonderful meal...

BIG GREEN SALADS W/PULLED SPICY CHICKEN.

I used to work in Arlington, Ma. on the local ambulance there and a Blue Ribbon was around the corner, I ate there almost every shift, a big green salad, that's exactly what it is, greens and cornbread croutons, with balsamic vinaigrette dressing,

I always added the chicken (it is to die for).

I always brought a salad home for him, he LOVED them. When I got a job closer to home the salads were gone forever; at least till I get close enough, and by golly Sunday was 10 miles from heaven...I was so excited that I woke him Sunday morning at 4am to tell him how close we would be...He said he ran quicker knowing the salad awaited him.

We are running our first race together on 10/28 locally, can't wait, I love running with him...

OH YEAH, he'll finish before me, his legs are longer, but I will finish!!!

We will both win because we did it together!!!
