Catch up

Well I have had a few days off recently so let me catch yous up...
Friday... we or rather I cleaned the house and got ready for PT to arrive..she said 3pm and showed at 1pm, this was after I came home from work and told B I was exhausted and was sleeping in till 1 pm or later, but that I would be up in time for his appointment..ha ha joke's on me. B called into my room at about noon to tell me she just called and was on her way, eta..30 min..WHF? I get up shower, get him showered and ready for her 20 min appointment (these appointments are not worth it, she is here maybe 20 min and then is gone. (we are so going to
outpatient therapy starting Tuesday May 26) So she arrives around 12:45 and I have him up in a chair, she walks in and says "ok show me your exercises," I tell him that I need to run a few errands and I will be back in 20 min. He gets up and she says "oh your not staying?" For what, I don't need PT and he can do and answer all questions asked of him, why do I need to be there, really? So I go and get a few things from the grocery store and call home, she is gone. I get us lunch and arrive back home, we eat lunch together and watch a movie...UNTRACEABLE really great movie. I get dinner ready because, he thought it would be a great idea to invite his parents and grandparents over for dinner, not like he's doing anything to get ready, right? We tell them to plan on dinner at 4:30pm (we eat early in our house and B tires quickly) So 4:30 comes, and goes; dinner is ready and there is no sign of them anywhere...4:50 they arrive and the garlic bread is getting cold, because it has been out of the oven for 20 min...pasta bake is still in the oven over cooking...they come in and the first thing I see is dear ole father in law grabbing a piece of garlic bread and walking to the couch to eat it; while mother in law is getting the meatballs warmed up on the stove (they arrived with cold meatballs (late) and knowing that dinner was at 4:30 firm..yeah, not so much) By the way FIL did not use a plate or a napkin for his toast, B and I just looked at each other in awe, if this was his house MIL would never have allowed it under any circumstances what so ever, nothing! While all this is going on Grammy decides she would like to sit on the couch beside me, which in itself is not bad, however, she is not the steadiest person on her feet and while walking to the couch she was carrying her orange soda in a glass filled to the top, again B and I just looked at each other knowing there was nothing he could do if she spilled it, it was all up to me to be quick, thankfully nothing was spilled and Grammy made it safely to the seated position. Dinner was wonderful and enjoyed by all, and I have 30 meatballs sitting in my refrigerator...ah, we don't need that many meatballs. Finally dinner was over and the canoili's served, we think we see the light at the end of the tunnel...ah no. They can hear the puppies beginning to get restless and want out if their confinement, and I yell to them "just a little longer and you can go outside" do you think anyone got the message? No, they stayed for another 2 hours, they didn't leave till after 9pm; hello, can you say unhappy puppies. Thankfully Riley did not destroy anther comforter, good boy Ri, mommy is so proud of you.
Saturday... it rained here, and B hates the rain, he can tell by the rod in his hip, this I did not I believe until I pointed out that the rain was over for the day (approx. 11am) and it was going to be nice for the rest of the weekend and to quit complaining about the hip. We had a very busy day, we went to Walmart, circuit city and Bj's and B was the main attraction with his walker. At first he was embarrassed about having it but then people we didn't know came up and told him to keep up the good work, getting out was half the battle, he spoke with so many people and we knew none of them, they were very encouraging, just what he needed . At Walmart we ran into some police officers I work with and they all wanted to know how it was going and when he was going back in the hospital; they even volunteered to mow the lawn, I work with some great guys. Leaving Walmart we ran into our favorite Applebees waitress who called him gimpy and asked what he did now, I just love her. She told us to stop by and she would make us the biggest and best salads we've ever had. We eat a lot of Applebee's salads,(just salads to accompany dinner) Where else can you get a huge salad with lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, bacon bits, eggs, croutons and dressing for $2.50 each, nowhere I tell ya, nowhere, it's cheaper than buying it in the store and putting it together. We finally arrive home and we sit down to watch a movie now at this time I must confess ,I kind of had control of the remote so he was at my mercy..we watched a few movies on lifetime movie network (she kills me weekend) He really did get into a few of the movies. Now it is finally 4:30 and the Red Sox have a double header because of the rain out the night before. So we watch the first game and have dinner, and the second game is about to start, so off to bed B goes, I get him settled in and I head off to my room and continue the whole she kills me weekend, I love LMN. I finally get to sleep because my body is still on a work night schedule and I fall asleep around 1:30 am...then I get a phone call from the next room at 3am telling me "it's raining outside" Are you kidding me, did he really just call and wake me up at 3 am to tell me it was raining? Yup he sure did, nothing else just it's raining outside and he hung up, that's all. Nice huh? NOT! Pay back baby is all I can say...just you wait.
Sunday...We get up and he visits his favorite bagel maker, she has been waiting for him to come in and visit...everyone was wonderful and was really glad to see him up and getting around as well as he is. We head back home and eat breakfast and get his morning exercises out of the way and the get showered and ready to go for the day. We head off to the park for a nice walk, the sun is shining for the moment because yet again he tells me it's going rain today, this time I take him at his word. We get home just in time to catch the pregame show on NESN, and then he is positioned comfortably so he can watch the game. I must tell you that not only did we watch the Red Sox game we managed to catch the Celtics game and the Penguins game, have no fear we have the NFL network to I flipped over to channel 212 to catch a few minutes of a replayed football game, now I can officially say I managed to see a football game, hockey game, a baseball game, and a basketball game all in one afternoon in May by the way. We enjoyed some dinner and went to our designated bedrooms for the evening. The puppies have became very good at knowing where the can go and can't go as far as their daddy is concerned, so I allowed them to sleep in daddy's room with the door open, Riley spent some time in his room and the rest with me in the big bed (king as apposed to daddy's queen) Annabelle on the other had stayed with daddy all night, never moving once, what a good girl, Belly Boo Woo.
Monday...We got up and had breakfast and did some shopping... then we got ready for his big doctors appointment with the surgeon...it was a 2pm appointment we arrives at 1:45 and he was seen at 3:50, they told us they were running behind, ah ya think? Finally we see the MD and he tells us everything looks fantastic and he can put 100 percent of his weight on his leg as of Friday morning, great news seeing as he is having his right hip replaced on Thursday. So he will again be weight bearing in Friday, yeah! He also said the incision site looks fantastic and loves the way it is healing, steri strips are starting to fall off. The top portion is off and the site looks really good no indentation and no rising of the scar. We got home around 5:30 and I made rice and chicken for dinner, I told B that I would rub lotion on his feet (they are dry and he can't reach because of hip precautions) and I would do all the dishes if I could be in bed by 6:10 pm, he agreed. I had to work at 10 pm and I wanted to catch a few zzz's before getting back to work after 3 glorious days off. I finally fell asleep around 7 pm and slept till 9pm, I got up got the puppies walked, showered and was at work by 9:43pm, not bad huh? This coming Wednesday is a huge deal here in the city I live in...Super Wal-mart is opening!!!! No more having to drive 10 miles out of the way for stuff then driving to another store for groceries, yeah, I cannot wait. This wonderful fabulous Wal-mart will be right off the highway, I live also off the highway 4 miles away, life is going to be so good. One stop shopping, WOOOHOOOO!!!

I am a huge Jon Lester fan, B bought me his shirt 2 years ago and it is my favorite, I've yet to see anyone else wearing one, so for now it is an original. I managed to catch the last 2 innings of the game tonight, where I happily witnessed...

Jon Lester pitch a
NO HITTER COMPLETE GAME!!!
Way to go #31!!

I wish they would change our Wal-mart to a Super one...lucky! Glad to hear that Brian is doing so well. I know how you feel about spills and such. Cami decided to trip and spill a whole bowl of pasta sauce all over the dining room carpet, the walls, chairs...it was such a mess. Take care!
