Well we had the pre-op testing done today and I think it finally sank in that this is really happening, and it is happening in less than one week..May 1st!!! The very nice doctor told him not to worry that he would be felling great in about three weeks, that he would start to fell like his old self, then he continued to read further done his chart and apologized saying " Oh in 3 weeks you'll be going through all this on the right side so, maybe for you, you'll feel better in about 6/7 weeks post op"''''needless to day B was NOT amused, not at all. We are thankful that this is finally happening, as the pain is getting worse and the hips keep locking in place, where he can't move or walk, it's very frustrating. The doctor today had no rhyme or reason as to why this happened to him, he has no other signs of any disease or arthritis, so he is perplexed but asked if he could study the procedure and B's medical history and write an article to the New England journal of Medicine, about the complexities of his situation.
His last day of work is Monday...he is still working a full shift at full duty, which I along with his Lieutenant find amazing especially since he is in constant chronic pain. He has responded to 4 fights in the prison and 6 fellow officer body distress alarms in the past month, always running, putting their safety before his own, he is a great solid officer.
I admit I'm scared to death about the surgeries, but I have to remain strong for him. He needs all the support he can get right now as he is totally freaking out.
